Information security or InfoSec refers to the management of data and information to promote accuracy, efficiency and to work against unauthorised use. InfoSec isn’t just about IT and cybersecurity. It covers all parts of the organisation that interact with data or information, for example, all of us! Examples of organisational data and information include contracts and other formal documents with customers, finance information in finance systems and information about you that is held by human resources (or HR).
